Researchers at the University at Albany's RNA Institute, the Neural Stem Cell Institute and Athghin Biotechnology, both in Rensselaer, will partner on the study, supported by a $225,000 small business technology transfer grant from the National Institute on Drug Abuse. The research team aims to evaluate RNA changes in brain cells exposed to cannabinoids from marijuana and nicotine from tobacco.
