Former Byker Grove actor reveals joy after dad's life is saved by donor

Actor and Tyneside lad Andrew Hayden-Smith today revealed how heartache turned to hope after a mystery donor stepped in to save his critically ill dad's life. The Byker Grove and Cucumber TV star told how he was "forever in the debt" of the blood cancer charity who helped trace a bone marrow donor after his dad, Wayne, was left needing a life saving transplant.
