Currently, there is no effective treatment for age-related macular degeneration; however, researchers at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles have been developing a promising therapy using stem cells, according to a new report . Published in the journal Stem Cells , the study showed that the injection of stem cells into the eyes of macular degeneration patients with an early form of the disease could slow or even reverse the progression of the disease.
