State funding boosts stem cell research in California, other states

A new study analyzed stem cell funding programs in four states and found that in both California and Connecticut, state programs have contributed to an increase in the share of publications in the field produced in these states. When federal funding regulations created limitations on human embryonic stem cell research, several states created their own funding programs.
