Precision plan At the 20 January State of the Union address, US President Barack Obama announced the creation of a precision medicine initiative to accelerate efforts toward specific, targeted therapies for diseases such as cancer. The 215 million plan, to be included in the 2016 budget, was formally launched on 30 January .
